In planning this trip and in preparing this website, I have run across a number of very useful links. Some of these I include here just for my own convenience. I generally use www.yahoo.com, www.altavista.com, and www.northernlight.com as my search engines. Japan Information Network is a fabulous website with all kinds of information about Japan. Kid's Window is a marvelous site for learning about Japan and the Japanese language. This Tokyo website is an interesting one I stumbled upon while looking for online material about Ginza. Nekochan's Japanese webpages are a great source for Japan-related GIFs with English translations. The AOL Japan Travel message board is an excellent source of information. I recently saw this link recommended: http://www.neo-tokyo.com/realjapan/main.htm It is a really great site about teenagers in Japan maintained in English by a High School girl in Dallas. I am discovering that "Japan Trip Reports" are a genre of websites in themselves: Roger & Marilyn's Photo Tour of Tokyo is kind of a mega-version of this site. Elizabeth and Avrum's Trip to Japan is another professionally done website. Randy Johnson's Japan Page includes description of out-of-the-way destinations, including Hagi. Jana's Journal of Japan includes a lot of text. One regret I have is that I didn't bring a small notebook computer so that I could keep a journal as we traveled. |
