Verona 2002

We spent one night in Verona, Friday June 21st, because we had always wanted to see the city.  We knew nothing in advance about the opera productions put on every summer in the Arena, but as it turned out our one night in Verona coincided with the season premiere of Aida.  Verona was very hot and mobbed with tourists.  We felt trapped in our "cheap seats" at Aida.  It would be worth spending extra money to get a numbered seat, rather than being packed in as we were with a mob of smoking germans.  At intermission we managed to crawl our way out of the crowd and the Arena.

For some reason I didn't take any 35MM pictures while in Verona, although I shot a fair amount of video, and took these stills with my Canon S100.
